Polyferric Sulfate (PFS) is a new type of effective inorganic polymer flocculant. The solid form is a pale yellow amorphous powder. The solid product has strong hygroscopicity. This product has good coagulation performance, stable chemical properties and fast sedimentation speed. It is applicable to a wide range of pH values and can be widely used in the purification treatment of domestic drinking water, various industrial water, industrial wastewater and urban sewage.
1.Before use, put this product into a dissolving tank at a certain concentration (10-30%), inject tap water and stir to make it fully hydrolyzed. Let it stand until it turns into a reddish-brown liquid, then dilute it with water to the required concentration for coagulation. Waterworks can also prepare a 2-5% liquid polyferric sulfate for direct addition, and for industrial wastewater treatment, it can be directly prepared into a 5-10% solution for addition.
2.The determination of the dosage can be based on the nature of the raw water through production debugging or small-scale experiments, depending on the appropriate formation of flocs. Waterworks can refer to the dosage of other original drugs. Under the same conditions, the dosage of this product is slightly lower than that of solid polyaluminum chloride, and it is 1/3-1/4 of the dosage of solid aluminum sulfate. If the original product used is a liquid, the dosage can be determined by calculating according to the corresponding drug concentration.
3.When in use, pump the prepared liquid medicine into the metering tank, and mix the liquid medicine with the raw water through metering and adding.
4. Generally, it should be prepared and used on the same day. Tap water is needed for preparing the medicine, and a small amount of sediment is a normal phenomenon.
5. Pay attention to the hydraulic conditions and floc formation in the three stages of coagulation.
(1) The coagulation stage is the process where the liquid medicine is injected into the coagulation system and quickly mixed with the raw water to form fine flocs in a very short time. At this time, the water body becomes more turbid, which requires the water flow to generate intense turbulence. In the beaker experiment, it is advisable to stir quickly (250-300 rpm) for 10-30 seconds, generally not exceeding 2 minutes.
(2)The flocculation stage is the process where the flocs grow and thicken, requiring an appropriate degree of turbulence and sufficient residence time (10-15 minutes). In the later stage, a large number of flocs can be observed gathering and sinking slowly, forming a clear surface layer. In the beaker experiment, first stir at 150 rpm for about 6 minutes, then stir at 60 rpm for about 4 minutes until it is in a suspended state.
(3)Sedimentation stage: It is the sedimentation process of flocculants in the sedimentation tank, requiring slow water flow. Generally, an inclined tube (plate) sedimentation tank is used (flocculants are separated by air flotation). A large number of coarse flocs are blocked by the inclined tube (plate) wall and deposited at the bottom of the tank. The upper layer of water is clear water, and the remaining flocs with small particle size and low density continue to collide and grow while sinking slowly. In the later stage, the residual turbidity is basically unchanged. In the beaker experiment, it is advisable to stir slowly at 20-30 rpm for 5 minutes, then let it stand and settle for 10 minutes, and measure the residual turbidity.
6.Strengthen filtration, mainly by reasonably selecting the filter layer structure and filter aids to improve the removal rate of the filter tank, which is an important measure to improve water quality.
7.This product is applied to the treatment of environmental protection and industrial wastewater, and the usage method is roughly the same as that in waterworks. For the treatment of raw water with high chroma, high COD and BOD, the effect is very good when supplemented with auxiliary agents.
8.For factories and mines using chemical coagulation, the original equipment does not need major transformation, and only needs to add a dissolving tank to use this product.
9.This product must be stored in a dry place, protected from moisture and heat (<80℃). Do not damage the packaging, and the product can be stored for a long time.
10.This product must be dissolved into liquid polyferric sulfate before use, and the dissolving equipment and dosing equipment should be made of corrosion-resistant materials.
